Their Site Fails Its Own Security Check

The certificate presented covers *.redpassionhost.com, but the site is served at www.chinahousewi.redpassionhost.com — a hostname mismatch. Browsers flag this before a visitor ever sees the menu.

A Breakdown of the Current Site

Problems

  • Broken SSL certificate — the cert doesn't match the site's hostname, so every visitor gets a browser security warning on arrival.
  • Bare-bones, early-2000s-style text layout — no modern branding, no visual identity that matches the real red-and-gold storefront.
  • No food photography anywhere on the site — customers can't see what they're ordering before they call.
  • No online ordering — every order has to go through a phone call.
  • Recurring review theme: order accuracy on large orders and phone-communication mix-ups.

Fixes

  • A properly configured, valid certificate on the site's actual domain — no more security warnings before the menu even loads.
  • A custom site built around China House's real brand — the red-and-gold signage colors, not a generic template.
  • Real photography of the food and storefront, replacing laminated posters with a proper digital menu presence.
  • A free DoorDash or Grubhub Merchant account, so online ordering is easy and reliable.
  • Online ordering gives customers a written record of exactly what they ordered — a reasonable way to cut down on the phone-order mix-ups a few reviewers mention, especially on large orders.

To Be Clear

The Food Isn't the Problem

Regulars keep coming back, and the Crab Rangoon in particular gets repeated praise. The issues here are entirely about the digital presence — the security warning, the dated design, and the lack of online ordering — not the food or the kitchen.
